Do What You Love…
If only everyone could make a living doing what they love, the world would be a happier place. After years of working as a construction manager and a teacher, it became time to go out on my own and do what I love. I have always loved movies and television, so when I could afford to buy my own video camera, I jumped at the chance. I have owned and used many video cameras since then and I’ve always been the one to lend a hand at family events if a photographer was needed.
Becoming a teacher and getting the chance to teach video editing classes gave me a chance to share my passion and get kids excited about it too. We had a blast making commercials, fake newscasts, music videos, and a black and white silent movie. It also gave my students a valuable set of skills that they can build on as video technology advances.
In addition to being fun and entertaining, videos give us a valuable opportunity to preserve our history. Video media provides the chance to preserve memories of our loved ones like no other media can.
